About the Artist
I have always loved to draw. When I was young, I spent hours creating pictures with colored pencils. Since then, my love for drawing has only grown—though now I use charcoal and pastel.
Lately, I particularly enjoy creating portraits of people and pets. There is something about a drawing that adds a lifelike quality to the final piece that is difficult to capture in any other way. Although it can be quite challenging to render the likeness of such a familiar subject with dimension, warmth, and authenticity, the reaction I get when I deliver each piece is worth the effort.
I find beauty in nature and family—both are important to my work and my life. I enjoy camping, hiking, and spending time outdoors. When I’m not drawing, I’m usually teaching, spending time with my family, or cycling.
If you are interested in commissioning a portrait, the best thing to do is reach out! I’m happy to discuss with you the best way to photograph your pet for my reference or to discuss at any photographs that you have available.
Once we are happy with the reference photo, I can start the piece. 50% of the fee will be required before I begin.
Portraits begin at $195 for 11×14 and vary based on size, subject, and medium (charcoal or pastel).
